WORLD OF EQUALITY

“Equality is something we all believe in, right? We live in a society where the laws are designed to protect people from unfair treatment or discrimination. We celebrate people who fight for equality and stand up against injustice. But how much do we really know about what equality really means? What does it mean to be equal? And what role does the concept of equality play in our lives today? These and many more questions were topics of discussed during the Training course World of equality ” 🤩🤩

The project helped us to get to know more about the EU and intercultural learning. The project was very interesting and informative for me, and I think it was beneficial for other students as well. It also helped me to improve my communication skills and learn about different customs and traditions in different countries. I also had the chance to share my own experience with other participants from other countries.

A few weeks after the project, the topic of the Training course is still alive in our daily communication with the other participants and modern technologies allow us to share and keep in touch even from a distance. As part of our dissemination process, we would like to share with you some personal experiences from the past project.
Bulgarian representatives video calling to discuss the end of the Training course “World of equality” and the gained knowledge and experience.

As a result of our Video meeting, please find here what representatives of the Bulgarian team want to share with you about this great training in sunny Spain!

Can you give us your opinion about the project “World of Equality”?

“My opinion of the project is extremely positive; I was really surprised by the whole organization. To be honest I wasn’t expecting it to be that interactive with the other colleagues and I think that the facilitators did an extremely good job of sharing the whole idea of equality. They not only did a brilliant job to educate us on the topic, but they also managed to rally the whole group together which is really hard in my eyes at least.”

Bayan Popov
“The Training course World of Equality gave me the opportunity to meet young people from various countries and with different backgrounds, some of them being representatives of a minority group or facing a kind of discrimination. The project was led by a professional trainer, experienced in the field of discrimination and human rights. I had the possibility to reflect and gain knowledge on the problems regarding tolerance and equality.”

Katya Aneva
“In my opinion, the training course was an excellent summary of many aspects of the topic presented. The organization was more than perfect- exceeded my expectations.”

Miryam Sevinova

Why is promoting equality and diversity so important for the well-being of our societies?

“Our societies can benefit the most if they are united, and what people don’t understand is that we cannot move forward as a society if we don’t act as one. This can only be achieved by accepting other people’s races, sexualities, and beliefs.”

Bayan Popov

“As we live in a diverse multinational and multicultural, it is extremely important to respect everyone’s personality. One of the biggest European values is equality in diversity and only united we stand.”

Katya Aneva

“I think that every society needs a little bit more “free-thinkers”. This gives more unity to different ethnicities, races, and gender differences.”

Miryam Sevinova

What is the most important thing you have learned during the training? How do you plan to share and use your knowledge?

“I’ve learned a lot during the project, the tutors gave me a good insight on the matter at hand, but I feel that I learned the most from my fellow participants. Their stories, experiences, and traumas really opened my eyes unlike anything or anyone up to this moment. The most important thing I learned is to look deeper and to help more because people oftentimes don’t have someone to rely on.”

Bayan Popov

“For me, the most important thing I achieved from this training course was the live examples of the participants from different countries, cultures, and minority groups, their points of view, and how they face and fight discrimination. Being a student in Jewish studies, I consider that the acquired knowledge will be very useful in my studies and in my voluntary art workshops with refugee women.”

Katya Aneva

“The most important thing I learned was to work together as a team during the project. I learned that I could change my point of view from the examples of the other participants in the project. Our work as a team gave us the opportunity to learn a lot and be more objective thinkers”

Miryam Sevinova

In addition to these insights, our team members spread the knowledge gained with friends and co-workers. Sharing is caring- so, Miryam Sevinova led a quick discussion on gender equality among her friends in her Latino dance group and all her friends welcomed the idea of making difference in our society by confronting any situation of inequality they might witness.
My sincere hope is that this blog made you think a bit more about the topic. We live in a world where people are constantly trying to figure out what it means to be equal. We are all human beings and we all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Therefore, it is extremely important to stand up for racial; gender; LGBTQ+; marriage; income and religious equality, but also for equal employment access; and equality for disabled people.
Make a difference and stand up for human rights!
