Can you give us your opinion about the project “World of Equality”?
The project was organized perfectly. The concept, the moderator, the location, and of course the spirit of international participants was all on point. Everything was designed so correctly to deliver the message that “We all are one” regardless of our diversities. It made us once more time to think about the types of discrimination that are surrounding us in this modern world. Our opinions about this project are similar because we’ve got the same vibe. I wish that such kinds of events will be organized more often, as they are a powerful tool to make people think about equality and discrimination. It was very interesting to hear from other participants, what kind of discrimination they had ever experienced, and once you see that the victims of discrimination can literally be every one of us because of differences and uniqueness that we have, it sounds alarming. As we were the representatives of Germany, we shared our experiences in Germany and in our motherlands (as we all are originally non-Germans). Hopefully, such topics will be more and more spoken about, and future generations will never come back to these topics again.
Why is promoting equality and diversity so important for the wellbeing of our societies?
We think that the idea of harmony is the basis of every success. Societies also succeed in conditions of harmony, solidarity and equality. The idea of equality has come to bring no more and no less that harmony in our thoughts and our lives in general. The idea of diversity has a natural origin. By accepting and loving differences between us, we return to our natural origins, that we are unique and different from the day we were born. What do we need more? than just a simple peace in our world. To have lasting peace, we must accept that we are neither more nor less than all the other citizens who live next to us, in our country, on our planet. In addition to thinking, the feeling of equality is also action, respect, and solidarity towards the other person. Promoting diversity and equality in our modern world is our generation’s mission, to lead to spread and to reach a better future for the generations of the future.
What is the most important thing you have learned during the training? How do you plan to share and use this knowledge?
It is quite difficult to say what we learned, because we learn every day and this is a lifelong process. According to the words of Tigran of our group, he learned to be more tactful, he learned to see the other person in me and I understood how much value one spoken word can have. This was my first Erasmus experience and in this environment of cultural diversity, every second is a knowledge that will stay with me forever.
