1 – How has the ‘Women with Big Dreams’ training shaped your perspective on women entrepreneurship?
The ‘Women with Big Dreams’ training program provided me with a safe place to explore and tap into my full potential. It encouraged me to embrace my aspirations and think big, despite the prevailing stereotypes and limitations imposed by society. By connecting with successful entrepreneurs who visited us during the program, I realized that my dreams were not only valid but also achievable. This training course has been a catalyst in shaping my perspective on women entrepreneurship. Through this transformative experience, I have gained the confidence to challenge gender barriers, nurture my entrepreneurial skills, and embrace failure as an integral part of the journey. The ‘Women with Big Dreams’ training has empowered me to step into the world of entrepreneurship with enthusiasm, determination, and unwavering belief in my abilities.
2 – What have you learnt from the two entrepreneurs that came to talk to the Women with Big Dreams project? Which is the most powerful lesson learnt?
The most powerful lesson I learned was the transformative power of socially responsible entrepreneurship. This entrepreneur’s dedication to making a difference highlighted the potential for businesses to create a positive impact on society, going beyond financial success.
The visit by the entrepreneur dedicated to supporting autistic individuals taught me an invaluable lesson about the potential of socially responsible entrepreneurship. Their story inspired me to strive for personal success while uplifting and empowering those in need. I am committed to creating a business that makes a positive difference in society.
3 – What will you do now in your community to foster women entrepreneurship and/or help young women in need to become empowered through entrepreneurship?
Here are some practical examples of initiatives that can be undertaken to foster women entrepreneurship and empower young women through entrepreneurship in my community. Here are a few ideas:
- Mentorship Programs: Organize mentorship programs where successful women entrepreneurs can guide and support young women interested in starting their own businesses. This can involve regular meetings, workshops, and one-on-one sessions to provide guidance on various aspects of entrepreneurship.
- Workshops and Skill Development: Conduct workshops and training sessions specifically targeted towards women, focusing on essential entrepreneurial skills such as business planning, marketing, finance management, and negotiation skills. These sessions can be tailored to address the specific challenges faced by women entrepreneurs.
- Networking Events: Host networking events that bring together aspiring women entrepreneurs, successful business owners, investors, and industry experts. These events provide opportunities for women to connect, collaborate, and build relationships that can lead to business partnerships and mentorship opportunities.
- Education and Awareness: Organize seminars and awareness campaigns in schools and colleges to promote entrepreneurship among young women. Encourage educational institutions to offer entrepreneurship courses and programs that empower young women with the knowledge and skills needed to start and manage businesses.
